A bit about me

I live in the Cotswolds, England in a beautiful, converted chapel. As I return to my artistic roots, building a more creative life, one drawing, painting, print or mixed-media experiment at a time, I couldn’t be happier.

After graduating from Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Art in the 1990s, I enjoyed a successful career running my own eponymous branding design agency. But it was all work and not much play!

Working on major corporate projects, I was a somewhat reluctant entrepreneur. I loved the daily challenge of solving clients’ problems and the satisfaction of building a team and business that achieved so much. But after more than three decades at the helm, and having successfully navigated the company through the pandemic, it was time to hand over the reins to others with the energy and ambition to take the agency forward. I knew that “this was enough’” and had decided “I like it here”!

In 2024, I embarked on a ‘self-curated fine art degree’ to reconnect with my early art school experience and satisfy my curiosity: What sort of art did I want to create and why? What disciplines, media, tools and techniques did I need to master to become a better artist in my own right? Was it finally ok to just play? Read more about that here.

This website showcases the work I have produced in this new, more creative life. With drawing from life (figure and landscape) as a foundational practice, I am also inspired by my background in textile design. Recent paintings and printmaking explore how colour, line and texture coexist in the liminal space between reality and imagination. These semi-abstract, expressive works explore surface texture with a muted or monochromatic colour palette.

Right now, it’s all about the journey not the destination, so this site and my work will continue to evolve.
